Radon Testing

Radon is an invisible and odorless gas that seeps in from the exterior of your home.  It is a breakdown of uranium in the soil and eventually reaches the air though several paths into a home.  The figure to the right is an example of how Radon can make its way into all buildings, including new construction.

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S.  The EPA estimates that 21,000 deaths occur each year from radon exposure.  The average radon concentration in a home is 1.3 pCi/L.  The level outdoors in the U.S. is 0.4 pCi/L.   The action level of the EPA is 4.0 pCi/L or higher.  Because there is no known "safe" level from exposure the EPA recommends that homes with levels between 2.0 pCi/L and 4.0 pCi/L consider hiring a mitigation professional.

We offer a 48-hour test that will measure the levels of concentration in the home.  Our monitors will give an accurate reading of the levels in the area tested.

If you are already receiving a home inspection we will with reduce the price of your radon testing by $25.

**Note: EvalPro does not participate in radon mitigation.  You can be assured we have no conflict of interest when providing you test results.**
